What I thought in the last article has come true. Even more: In Kid-Size, Darmstadt Dribblers defeated their traditional opponent NimbRo for the very first time. In RoboCup@Home, robots searched for items in cupboards and handed them over to humans requesting for them.
Darmstadt Dribblers defeated NimbRo in a semifinal game with score 7:2 (pictures in the gallery) – sad, but true. Therefore, NimbRo is dropped out of the tournament and at best will reach the 3rd place against CIT brains. In the final game, Darmstadt Dribblers will encounter FUmanoids from Berlin.
However, in Teen-Size, NimbRo will play in the final game, so that a huge opportunity exists to get the title. The final game is appointed for tomorrow.
As for the technical challenges described yesterday, NimbRo was awarded good scores either: In Kid-Size, NimbRo is awarded the second place, in Teen-Size the the first!
Concerning RoboCup@Home, Nimbro received nice scores for several accomplishments. To name one, the robot DynaMaid managed to receive verbal requests of humans for some Items stored in a cupboard and managed to autnonomously search for them, grab them and hand them over.
Tomorrow, the final games take place and it looks like there is a small farewell party.
