The Kid-Size results of the second round robin phase are published, as well as the Teen-size round robin results.
It does not need much time to explain the kid-size intermediate round results: Six games were performed, two of them were endet by one forfeiting team either. One game resulted in regular scores that then made a team win, and the winners of the three remaining games ware determined by a coin toss because no goal was scored.
When looking at the Kid-Size results of the second round robin phase one may wonder about the many games where only one team scored goals. Additionally, there are many games with a 0:0 scoring. This is caused by the fact I mentioned in an earlier article: There are three kinds of Teams. Some teams manage to play at a relative professional level, sone manage to play fairly, and some are not even able to walk or localize balls (for example new teams). The 10:0 Games are explained by the fact that games usually are ended, once a goal difference of 10 is reached. This is done in order to avoid disproportionately robot wear-outs.
As already stated yesterday, the three german Teams NimbRo, Darmstadt Dribblers and, with the little of a distance to the latter teams, FUmanoids, dominate the tournament (FUmanoid has a little more technical problems to encounter than NimbRo or Darmstadt Dribblers). Even though, all three teams are the winners of their respective second round robin groups, the fourth group is lead by the CIT Brains, which are also a strong team. The Final Round begins on Sunday.
As for the Teen-Size, all round robin games have been accomplished, too. Group leaders are NimbRo (Group A) and CIT Brains (Group B). Tomorrow, the technical challenges are performed in both leagues, which include special, very interesting tasks for the robots, like for example a throw-in competition where the robots have to use their arms.
