The talk will be held in German language as part of the interdisciplinary colloquium of complex systems, Interdisciplinary Centre for Complex Systems, Bonn University. As attractive research presentations are nearly as important as the research topic itself (if no one wants to watch your presentation of results, it will be like you never conducted research in this area), there is a music trailer presented within this blog entry.

In the talk, swarm behaviors will be presented (mostly using videos) that emerged out of large scale artificial evolutions I performed in my diploma thesis. The swarms of bio-inspired simple beings were – different to related research – not evolved towards a particular purpose, for example bridging some gap. Their only evolutionary goal was to create a stable population of swarmers, given different environment condition. As a result, fascinating behavioral patterns were elicited, that are known from living beings and watched in real nature every day.
